Anti Doping agreement signed between APC President and IPC

Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA- An IPC-APC
Anti Doping Agreement was signed between APC President and
IPC CEO last June 2009 during the APC Coordination Commission
meeting in Guangzhou. The objective of the agreement is to
ensure the APC can deliver an anti-doping programme at the
occasion of the 2009 Regional Events governed by the APC that
is compliant with the IPC Anti-Doping Code and the World Anti-Doping
Code International Standards, to harmonize anti-doping rules,
regulations and policies in the Paralympic Movement and therefore
the governance of the anti-doping programme during the Events
will be transferred to the IPC.The collaboration is applicable
for the following Events:
- 1.2.1 Tokyo 2009
Asian Youth Para Games, Tokyo
- 1.2.2 IPC 2009
Shooting Open Asian Championships, Cheonju-Korea
- 1.2.3 5th Asean
Para Games, Kuala Lumpur
- 1.2.4 IPC 2009
Powerlifting Asian Championships-3rd APC Cup, Malaysia
An extensive educational
programme for athletes and coaches will be be implemented,
with an Athlete Outreach booth in a centralized place in the
Athlete Village.
