APC Games Liaison Committee's visit to Incheon, Korea for the 2014

Incheon, Korea - From 16th to 17th July, the APC Games Liaison Committee meeting was held between the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) and the Pre Organizing Committee of the 2014 Asian Para Games.

A five-member delegation from the APC spent three days in Incheon, Korea for an evaluation and inspection of the venues and also meet with several Bid Committee members to discuss several areas and looked closely at the progress made by the Bid Committee. In various working group sessions, the APC received a detailed report on the preparation progress from the Pre organizing committee in areas such as structure, accomodation, games village, ceremonies, transport, venues, budget and etc.

The official announcement with regards to the awarding of the Games will be done in early October. The official contract signing ceremony is scheduled on 30th October 2009.

Highlights of the visit included a venue tour to key venues.

The Asian Para Games is part of the global paralympic movement and governed by the Asian Paralympic Committee. These is the second largest sporting event in the world after the Paralympic Games, comprising one half of the world's population.
