APC delegation to inspect venues

KUALA LUMPUR – APC key officials are to visit Uzbekistan to conduct a meeting on the IPC Athletic Asian Championship scheduled next year.

APC Secretary General Ms Malini will conduct a meeting with UAE’s Mr Tarek Souei, Head of Officiating of the IPC Athletic Programme.

The meeting will be conducted from March 31 to April 5th 2010.

The meeting is to be held following Uzbekistan’s interest to host the Championships which will feature Paralympians from around the world. Uzbekistan has submitted an official bid document to APC for the Championships.

The IPC Asian Athletic Championship serves as an important qualifier for athletes who aspire to see action in the 2012 Paralympics in London.

The APC delegation would conduct an inspection on the proposed venues which would also looked into the question of accessibilities, transportation, logistics and other technical requirements.
