APC joints partnership with AOCVD

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - The Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) with the cooperation of Asia Oceanie Committee Volleyball for Disabled (AOCVD) will be organizing an " Introductory Workshop in Sitting Volleyball" from 10th to 13th December 2008 in Kuala Lumpur.

The workshop aims to introduce the Sitting-Volleyball sports to the community of people with disabilities. It also serves as a platform for rehabilitation and assimilation to the mainstream of a community. It is expected that participation in the workshop can further enhance the sports technical skills as well as to introduce the sports to athletes with disabilities in APC Family.

APC President Dato' Zainal, after the announcement said, "I am very excited. The whole communication set from this sports is as an example of APC's intention of having partnership with all other sports. This can be the precedence for such partnership with many other sports. Hope to reach 10 such sports partnership leading to consistent and regular APC Sports Championships by 2010 back to back with specific technical and sports science development. One sure way of developing Asia's resources and enhancing Asia's future in the global paralympic movement"
